The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva and the University Hospitals of Geneva are seeking applications for the position of a
Full or Associate Professor
Senior Consultant
CHARGE: This is a joint university hospital and faculty position as senior consultant, including an appointment as professor. The position is attached to the recently created Emerging Viral Disease Centre and has clinical affiliations with the division of infectious diseases (clinical department of medical specialities) and the division of tropical and humanitarian medicine (clinical department of community medicine, primary and emergency care).
The candidate should have a clinical track record in infectious diseases, tropical virology and/or emerging viral diseases, along with proven expertise in microbiology or global public health projects related to emerging viral diseases.
The successful candidate should have a strong and international academic background and be able to conduct high level clinical research at the interface between diagnostic virology and fundamental virology, in connection with viral emerging diseases. He-She should also be dedicated to strong medical education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Possessing strong organizational, managerial, and leadership skills to create and lead a research group, the candidate should also be capable to develop collaborations with other divisions in a transversal perspective.
TITLES AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
M.D. title and board certification in infectious diseases, or equivalent, are required.
Sufficient knowledge of French.
Relevant experience as an independent investigator and teacher.
Publications in major international journals.
