The PhD project will focus on the generation/optimisation of fluorescent reporter cell lines for the detection of viruses. The system will use a reporter construct that is activated upon the infection with various virus families (BSL-2/BSL-3). The project will explore different downstream assays to gain new insights into viral infections


Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Virology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related subject
Experience with molecular cloning, fluorescence microscopy, cell culture, virology (advantageous)
Creative, enjoys learning new things
Fluent in English (written, oral), German (advantageous)
