LOEWE top professorship awarded to Prof. Dr. Sandra Ciesek

Frankfurt virologist Professor Sandra Ciesek has been awarded a LOEWE top professorship at Frankfurt's Goethe University. According to the Hessian Ministry of Science, the funding program for excellent cutting-edge research will provide the director of the Institute of Medical Virology at the university hospital there with an additional 1.4 million euros for material and personnel costs for five years. Among other things, these funds will be used to finance a further professorship at Ciesek's institute. Sandra Ciesek has been a leading researcher on SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
