Text GfV on the topic of SARS-CoV-2 PCR
26/11/2020
There are always discussions on the use of the #PCR test as a diagnostic tool for #SARSCoV2. This text is therefore not aimed at experts, but is intended to give the general public an overview of the TOTAL process of #SARSCoV2 #diagnosis using PCR. We have therefore decided to describe the three major steps of PCR diagnostics for #SARSCoV2 from the #swab to the findings here: 1. pre-analytics (= preparation of the test sample) 2. technical analytics (= carrying out the PCR) and 3. post-analytics (= assessment of the PCR result).
