Call for applications for the Pettenkofer Prize 2022

In October 2022, the Pettenkofer Foundation intends to award a research prize in the field of virology for 5,000 euros for an outstanding original scientific paper published after January 1, 2021 on the topic of innovative methods for the diagnosis of viral infections.

The original work is said to have contributed to an important gain in knowledge for the diagnosis of a viral infection. Both groundbreaking work on the direct detection of the pathogen and innovative methods for characterizing the immune response against the pathogen will be considered. The prize can be awarded to an individual or a group. The application must be accompanied by an assurance that all non-submitting co-authors agree to the application.

An independent, expert jury will decide on the awarding of the prize.

The prize money is provided by Roche Diagnostics Deutschland GmbH.
