Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF), we cordially invite you to attend our DZIF Annual Meeting from 25th to 26th of September 2023, at Schloss Herrenhausen in Hannover.
We all constantly face (re-)emerging infectious diseases, while clinicians and scientists are still trying to understand well-known infections better, in order to improve patient care.
A fundamental understanding of the decisive control mechanisms for susceptibility and resistance to infectious diseases paves the way for new forms of prevention, diagnosis and therapy. Together we are trying to better capture the influence of pathogen characteristics, human genetic factors, ageing processes, lifestyle habits, microbiota and medications. Therefore, the DZIF Annual Meeting 2023 will focus specifically on the topic ‘susceptibility to infectious diseases’.
In addition to particular clinical challenges, data-driven research approaches, basic principles as well as translational approaches towards precision infection medicine will be highlighted.
With this conference, we intend to connect clinical experts with basic researchers and data scientists, in order to promote interdisciplinary exchange and to establish new translational collaborations in our field. The support of young researchers is a special concern for us, and we especially encourage young colleagues to participate actively!
