1st Workshop “Young PI” of the Society of Virology (GfV)

The working gourp Young PI from the society of virolgy (GfV) was founded in 2022 for group leaders & junior professors in basic and clinical research who do not yet hold a W2 professorship. The goal of the working group is to provide knowledge that facilitates the transition from bench to successful leadership of one’s own working group. Therefore the Young PI working group organizes meetings and workshops where important tips, tricks and soft skills are imparted.

The young PI annual meeting will take place from 11th – 12th December 2023 at the Institute of Virology in Marburg.

The Meeting stands under the topic: “Collaborations” and we will address the German Research Landscape, Industrial Collaborations and Academic Collaborations with our three invited guests.

  • Prof. Dr. Sandra Ciesek (Vice-President GfV; Frankfurt)
  • Prof. Dr. Dr. Ralf Bartenschlager (former GfV President; Heidelberg)

We will send a more detailed program closer in time for attendees. Furthermore, we would like to send a biosketch form for attendees to fill out to connect better at the meeting, which will be attached to the program.

Organizational:
Registration is free of charge. However, due to limited availability, we ask every participant to only register when they know they can attend as well as to cancel as soon as they know something makes it impossible to attend.
